It’s time to dig deep for Brain Tumour Research
Fancy helping to make the world a better place? For 2025, we’ve made the bonkers decision to raise £10,000 (yes, really) for Brain Tumour Research to help celebrate our 20th Birthday.
A little positivity couldn’t have come at a better time, right?
Why Brain Tumour Research?
You see, not only are we cool, really great at design and adored by all our clients – we’re also really good people. No, really. We get behind causes that matter. And this year, we’re going all in for Brain Tumour Research, baby!
Why is this so important to us? Well, it’s personal. Our amazing co-founder, Marie’s late husband, Dave, tragically lost his own battle to the disease in 2019. And it’s something that weighs heavily on everyone in Team Pistachio. You can read more about Marie’s personal struggle with grief since Dave’s passing here.
So, as Dave was such a monumental part of the Pistachio family, and our biggest cheerleader, to mark Pistachio’s 20th anniversary, we’re setting ourselves a big old goal for BTR. Marie has already kicked things off with a tasty bake sale – and now things are really heating up: Lee’s going shave his head!
That’s right. Lee, our lovely Client Success Manager, is about to take one for the team. He’s shaving his head (yep, a zero grade numero zero) to help us raise money for this incredible cause. BUT we need YOU to make it a success!
How will it help?
Brain tumours are the leading cancer killer of children and adults under 40 in the UK. Each year, over 16,000 people are diagnosed with a brain tumour, but the survival rates are staggeringly low, with only 12% surviving for five years or more. It’s not right, and we want to do all we can to make a change.
Brain Tumour Research’s work is absolutely vital to changing these heartbreaking statistics. But to make it happen, they need funding — and that’s where our plan comes together (insert evil genius laugh here).
Here’s how you can help
We’ve got a plan, and we’d love for you to join us on this journey. Here’s how:
👉 Lee’s goal is just £1k to get the clippers fired up, donate, and we’ll be one step closer.
👉 Spread the word – share the campaign with your network and let’s make some noise for this amazing cause.
👉 Stay tuned – Lee’s not the only one taking on a challenge this year. We’ve got more fundraising fun ahead, including:
- Chris Gillen, our Motion Lab guru, will be running the Robin Hood Half Marathon in September.
- Paul and Rich are gearing up for a BIG two-wheeled adventure (we’re keeping this one under wraps for now, but trust us, it’s going to be HUGE!)
- More fundraising fun TBC from the Pistachio ladies.
More than just a buzz cut
This is about more than just a head shave, a long run or a bake sale – it’s about making an impact. As we work to hit our £10,000 target, we’ll be providing updates on our progress, sharing fun content, and of course, celebrating our achievements once the deed is done.
This is a cause we care deeply about, and it’s not just about raising money. It’s about spreading awareness and supporting a movement that could save lives.
Why we’re doing this
We’ve been incredibly lucky to have such an amazing team and incredible clients over the past 20 years. And this year, we want to give back.
The challenge of raising £10,000 for Brain Tumour Research is a big one, but we know that with your help, we can smash it. We’re starting with Lee’s head shave, but that’s just the beginning of an exciting year ahead. One where we can celebrate working together, and all the people who’ve made Pistachio the agency it is today.
Thank you for supporting us!
We’re incredibly grateful for your support, whether it’s through donations, sharing the campaign, or simply cheering us on from the sidelines. This year is about making a real difference and leaving a lasting impact on the lives of those affected by brain tumours.
So, let’s make it count.

Stay tuned for before-and-after photos, videos, and BTS moments over on our socials, you won’t want to miss it!
