My experience…

Hi! I’m Georgia. A second-year business student studying locally in Berkshire, currently working towards completing my extended Diploma in Business. Perhaps not who you expected to hear from this week? That’ll be because I’m here at Pistachio HQ in Marlow as an apprentice for the week.

Just like most people, I have naturally set myself a range of New Year’s resolutions to take on this January. Some of which include drinking more water, generally becoming more confident in myself, and most importantly, what I find myself writing about today – I have set myself the challenge (which might sound simple to some!) of saying yes more. To take on as many new opportunities and experiences as possible in 2018.

So, with my resolutions firmly in place, it was time to act. Which is why you are finding yourself reading a blog that I have written. Instead of being unproductive at home, possibly lazing in bed until midday, here I am… at Pistachio Design in Marlow.

So what have I got up to on my work experience at Pistachio so far. Well, where do I start?

I am writing this on day three out of my five day placement here at Pistachio, and so far, so good!

Why did I choose to visit Pistachio for my placement this week I hear you asking? Well, the answer is simple! When researching potential businesses to visit for the week, Pistachio stood out. Their aims and background interested me, their previous clients intrigued me, and the idea of working with them excited me! I was certain that I wanted to have the opportunity to learn and grow alongside a creative and strategic agency. So, I was delighted when I was offered the chance to do just that.

When starting my placement on the 8th of January 2018, I was entering unfamiliar terrain. I didn’t know too much about the people at Pistachio, nor the ins and outs of creative advertising and design from a professional point of view. Don’t get me wrong, having studied business for two years I had some idea of what I was letting myself in for, I just perhaps didn’t quite have it down to a T. What I did know however, was that this aspect of business, advertising and marketing on a whole is a topic I am particularly interested in and eager to learn more about.

As a student, in what could potentially be my final year of education, it’s that dreaded time where I should be making decisions about where I want to go and what I want to do after this academic year is over. So, for someone like me, unclear about my future, having the opportunity to work with Pistachio in a professional, yet friendly environment, has been the ideal way to aid my decision making in terms of my career plans.

Well, all I have left to say is… thank you Pistachio! Thanks for having me, thanks for helping me, and thanks for teaching me. I have learnt a lot from this week. Not just in myself, but I’ve also had the chance to learn about, and admire your work as an agency. And for that I would highly recommend Pistachio as your designers, marketers and brand strategists! Maybe you have the desire to rebrand, perhaps launch a new campaign or even expand? In which case Pistachio are the guys to call. They’ll sort you right out! Just like they helped me.

If you are interested in having a browse through some of Pistachio’s recent creative work – which I can assure you won’t regret! check out the link here. Or if you simply fancy keeping up to date with the team, follow them on Twitter.

Thanks again guys!
