Hi, I’m Tracee, I’m the newbie at Pistachio HQ and I’m here to tell you that everything happens for a reason…
Now in my second week at Pistachio, I have been asked by the team to introduce myself in the form of this blog post and allow you some insight into my journey so far, and what has lead me to Pistachio’s door.
I’m a firm believer that things work out just the way they are supposed to – even when that’s not entirely clear at the time – and around 8 months ago I took the (some might say rash) leap to quit my corporate role in Communications and Engagement and move to the other side of the world. Except…ahem…as the eagle eyed among you may have noticed, I’m still very much planted on UK soil. I would like to say that maybe the people who called me rash had a point? But nah, New Zealand (my birthplace) isn’t going anywhere, so for now my journey back home is a ‘work in progress.’
So, after taking some time out of the Corporate race, I was itching to get stuck into a more creative environment, and as it turns out, life gave me just the nudge (or is it kick up the proverbial?) that I needed to do something about it. And happily, here I am at Pistachio HQ, steadily getting to know my amazing new clients and super friendly and creative team, plus immersing myself in the way that they work around here. Luckily there’s a ton of juicy projects to dive into, which will also provide some fab, and exciting, personal challenges to expand my skill-set. Win win!
Essentially I’ve been creating things, in one form or another, my whole life – whether paid or unpaid – and in my down-time I can usually be found with either an Apple pencil or a paint brush in my hand. Thankfully, my roles in marketing and communications for big brands and flirtations with freelance design along the way have allowed me to express my creativity in lots of different forms and develop some useful skills that I can definitely put to good use here.
My motto is ‘The sun and the sand and a drink in my hand’ and when I’m not at work, you can typically find me heading to the coast in our beat up van for a spot of downtime at the beach, pure bliss.
Thanks for reading, I look forward to getting to know you all a little better and hopefully I’ll get to meet or speak to some of you very soon!
